Louis Phillippe Gold Etched Gilt Leaf Mirror
Louis Phillippe Mirrors are named after the once King of France famed for safe guarding the future of the Palais of Versailles by founding the Museum of the History of France who ascended to the throne in 1830. This change safe guarded the famed Hall of Mirrors housed at the Palais.
Our classic Louis Phillippe style is feminine, simple and warm.
Its traditional form is personified by curved upper corners along with the dainty 'pearls' applied to the inner edge of the frame.
The sheen and quality of the finish is achieved through the hand application of leaf built up in a series of layers. The tone effect in the border of the mirror is achieved through the use of water etching for the smooth surface alongside leaf gilding. The frame is finally hand polished to a beautiful shine.
This elongated arched mirror is perfect for standing in a hallway, or bedroom.
